You Were Never Meant to Go Through Infertility Alone
Why we created The Waiting Room—and why finding community may be one of the most important parts of your fertility journey.
Infertility has a way of making the world feel incredibly lonely.
It can feel like everyone around you is moving forward while you're standing still—watching pregnancy announcements fill your social media feed, sitting through baby showers with a smile, or wondering why something that seems to happen so easily for others has become the hardest thing you've ever experienced.
The truth is, infertility affects millions of people. Yet somehow, so many of us still feel like we're the only ones going through it.
That's exactly why The Waiting Room exists.
More Than an Infertility Support Group
When I first started sharing my own IVF journey online, I wasn't looking to build a community. I was simply looking for someone who understood.
Someone who knew what it felt like to wait for beta results.
Someone who understood the anxiety of another procedure.
Someone who knew the heartbreak of loss and the hope that somehow keeps us moving forward.
What I found was thousands of people feeling exactly the same way. And that online connection quickly became something much bigger.
Today, The Waiting Room has grown into a nationwide community with local chapters across the country where members can meet face-to-face, build genuine friendships, and realize they never have to navigate infertility alone.
Because while doctors help us medically, community helps us emotionally.
And both matter.
There Is No "Right" Infertility Story
One of the most beautiful things about this community is that no two stories are the same. Some members are trying naturally. Others are navigating IUI, IVF, donor conception, surrogacy, recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis, PCOS, male factor infertility, unexplained infertility, or pregnancy after infertility. Some have children. Some are still waiting. Some have experienced devastating loss. Some are just beginning to ask questions. Different stories. One common understanding. You don't have to explain why you're anxious before an appointment. You don't have to apologize for leaving a baby shower early. You don't have to pretend you're okay when you're not. Everyone here simply gets it.
Why Community Matters
Research continues to show that infertility can significantly impact mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. While medical treatment focuses on growing your family, emotional support helps you survive the journey getting there. That's why our chapters aren't therapy sessions. They're simply spaces where people can exhale. Where conversations don't require explanations. Where you can laugh, cry, vent, celebrate, or simply sit beside someone who understands. Sometimes the greatest comfort isn't advice. It's knowing you're no longer the only one in the room.
